Stepping Stones NI were delighted to make it into the top 4 finalists in the “Belfast Telegraph Make A Difference Awards 2011".

In the "Best Art/Sport/Community Project" Category they were selected from hundreds of nominees as finalists.  A selection of staff, board members and trainees attended the glittering event on 9th March 2011.  While they were not selected as category winners the trainees and staff were very proud of the recognition being a finalist meant.

Chief Officer Paula Jennings commented after the event "Being a finalist in an event as prestigious as this is testament to the incredible work our staff, trainees and clients do.  We were so pleased to be able to share the experience with some of our trainees as they are the reason Stepping Stones does the work we do.  To be selected from hundreds of nominees as a top 4 finalist is an incredible achievement, of which we are all very proud.  We would like to congratulate "Midnight Street Soccer" on winning the event and wish them and our fellow finalists every success for the future."

In attendance at the event were Sue Ann Hannah, (Customer Service Assistant in The Avenue Coffee Shop), Gillian Crothers (NVQ trainee at Seymour Street Coffee Shop), Kyle Walker (NVQ trainee at Seymour Street Coffee Shop), Paula Jennings (Chief Officer) and Kathy Martin (Chairperson of Stepping Stones Board of Directors).
