Susan has been with Stepping Stones Employment Service for over a year, she had a few work placements and trials including Pimento Cafe in Moira and Stepping Stones Head Office.  Susan requested she would like employment closer to her home in Maghaberry.  There were limited opportunities then in September 2009 a cleaning vacancy became available in The Visitors Centre in Maghaberry.  After meeting with Michael Kelly to discuss this opportunity, Susan began her employment on a trail bases for a few weeks which has proved very successful and almost  four months later Susan is happily continuing her post.

Michael Kelly from The Visitor’s Centre at Maghaberry said; “The Visitor Centre provides support to families with a loved one in Prison, and Susan recently joined our team, as Project Assistant.
 
Susan is in charge of making sure the place is kept clean and tidy, and that it is welcoming for visitors. She carries out this work very well, and is willing to get involved in everything that's asked of her. This could range from brushing and mopping, cleaning tables, through to making and preparing food, making cups of tea and supporting our kitchen staff. She carries out all her work with a smile.
 
Staff members and visitors all agree that Susan makes a big difference to the Centre, and can't remember what the place was like without her. She arrives in with a wave and a smile, and gets stuck in straight away. She's so keen that we sometimes have to persuade her to sit down and take her break!

Susan is really enjoying her job at Maghaberry, she has a great relationship with the Staff members and is enthusiastic about the work.  We would like to thank the staff of The Visitors Centre in Maghaberry for their support and we would like to wish Susan every Success in the future.
