Sueanne's Story |

|
When Sueanne joined the employment service she had previously completed an NVQ Level 1 in Food Service and was keen to gain further experience in order to achieve employment in this sector.
Sueanne was very clear about the type of role she was looking for and we were able to immediately look at the possible opportunities that existed for her.
Sueanne, with the support of Stepping Stones, began a work placement in September 2009 at the Hub coffee shop. Sueanne had explained to us that she really enjoyed working at the front of house serving customers as well as in the kitchen area. Her duties were therefore set and included serving customers and taking orders, keeping the coffee shop clean and tidy and helping in the kitchen. Sueanne performed her tasks very well and soon became a valued member of the team at The Hub.
When a vacancy arose within The Avenue Coffee Shop for a Customer Services Assistant Sueanne applied and due to her qualifications, experience, and reports from her current work placement, was offered a two week work trial. Sueanne was outstanding and was successful in gaining the position.
Sueanne was thrilled with her new position and had achieved her dream of entering paid employment. Sueanne started in her new position in November 2009 and is enjoying it very much. She has excelled in her role and is a talented member of the Stepping Stones team.
